Auckland is Aotearoa’s largest city and a major contributor to our country’s economy. It continues to change and grow, with more housing, modernised transport links and new technologies including the electrification of transport and industry.
Our Auckland Strategy outlines a programme of work to support this growth and enable Auckland’s energy future. We need to ensure that the grid remains robust and reliable, that it can support decarbonisation, as well as enable pragmatic development across the region.
We have an extensive maintenance programme planned on our 220kV lines over the next 30 years. Some of these projects are currently underway as we work through how we will deliver this complex maintenance programme by 2050. At the same time, we continue to collaborate with our stakeholders to support and enable Auckland’s development.
