Entries for the STAR Awards 2021 are now open until 5pm on Friday 20 November 2020.
Let’s celebrate the champions of health, safety and wellbeing working across the nation’s electricity grid.
We welcome your nominations of the individuals, teams and initiatives that are bringing best practice to the job – and strengthening our sector because of it. This is their time to shine!
Changes to the STAR Awards for this event
- We are taking the STAR Awards virtual! Save the date of Thursday 15 April because broadcasting the awards ceremony means we are delivering it to you with certainty!
- As part of this, we need you to submit a one-minute video as part of the nomination process. You can learn more about this on the Nominate someone for a STAR Award page.
- You will also see some refinements of and changes to the 2021 award categories. The main one is that the judges will be awarding the STAR Supreme Award to the best of the six category winners.
We appreciate you taking the time to nominate an individual, team or initiative – making your nomination means that you are contributing to positive changes in the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone in our sector.
What are the STAR Awards?
Transpower's STAR Awards show our thanks and give recognition to the people who build, operate and maintain the National Grid – the people who are keeping the lights on for everyone in New Zealand.
The STAR Awards – which stands for ‘Safety Thanks and Recognition’ – are held every two years and champion best practice in our field.
