About the STAR Awards 2021

Transpower's STAR Awards show our thanks and give recognition to the people who build, operate and maintain the National Grid – the people who are keeping the lights on for everyone in New Zealand.

The STAR Awards – which stands for ‘Safety Thanks and Recognition’ – are held every two years and champion best practice in our field.

Sixty-six nominations were received for Transpower's STAR Awards 2021. An independent panel of judges shortlisted these to 17 finalists across six award categories, ahead of the STAR Awards Ceremony on Thursday 15 April. This will be their time to shine!

There are some refinements of and changes to the 2021 award categories this awards programme. The main change is that the judges will be awarding the STAR Supreme Award to the best of the six category winners.

We appreciated everyone who took the time to nominate an individual, team or initiative – by doing this they help lift best practice in the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone in our sector.
